Poetry
Enjoy a selection of 30 noteworthy examples of Thoreau’s poetry! Many additional poems — including some of Thoreau’s best — can be found interspered throughout Walden and A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers, of course, in his essays on Love and Friendship, as well as his Natural History of Massachusetts, plus within Edward Emerson’s Henry Thoreau as Remembered by a Young Friend and Mark Van Doren’s Henry David Thoreau: A Critical Study. The poems in this relatively small selection have been presented in alphabetical order — pick any title that might pique your interest, and if so inclined you can continue through to the end and then start from the beginning again.
